The Old City Cemetery Candlelight Tours 2024

Old City Cemetery (October, 2024)
These tours are given in the month of October by candle light and feature local actors playing historical members of Lynchburg Virginia, many of whom are buried in the cemetery. The characters change every season and span across many historical time periods.
The character's of the 2024 season include:
Frankie Anderson, a local African American school teacher.
Walter Steele, a Balloonist/Aeronaut who died in 1897
Arabella Dormile, a newly freed woman falsely charged in 1867 for murdering her newborn baby
Ann Kidd, a prostitute who lived in Buzzard's Roost in the early to mid 1800s
Celia Hamilton, a widow who lost many of her children, and worked in the local shoe factory.
Henry Crichton, African American Barber from the mid to late 1800s.
Pieces constructed by designer include: Celia Hamilton's 1917 dress (fabric and trim dye-work and construction), Katie Elizabeth Henderson Stephens' 1915 Skirt, Bertie Blanks Houston's 1890s Bodice
